Messaging
Exchange Server has become the messaging server of choice for many companies, and
Outlook is the standard for desktop messaging clients.
Exchange Server manages mail, appointments, group scheduling, contacts, and
tasks with a minimum of administrative effort.
Small Business Server has always included a version of Exchange Server. SBS 2008
expands the limits and capabilities of this version, with message store size up
to 75Gb and up to 75 concurrent mailbox users. In addition, Exchange Server 2007
includes ActiveSync, which synchronizes mail, contacts and appointments with
mobile phones using Windows Mobile OS 5 or higher.
SBS combines Windows IIS (Internet Information Server) with Exchange Server to
give you connectivity wherever you are. With Outlook Web Access you can connect
to your email using an internet connection and a browser, or use Outlook
Anywhere and the desktop version on Outlook on your laptop as if you were
connected locally.
